One lesson Jo has carried throughout her career is the importance of staying curious, to trust, rely on facts, but also to verify and avoid assumptions. That mindset has helped her make sound decisions and improve outcomes in complex environments.
Jo sees workplace health and safety as a powerful way to create lasting change. She values the opportunity to contribute to a wider ecosystem, focused on better outcomes for workers and organisations, through the ShopCare community.

This role provides her with valuable insights, and frontline retail sector experience. Previously she held health, safety and wellbeing roles at Frucor Suntory, Department of Corrections and Air New Zealand, and spent over eight years at ACC, supporting large businesses to implement injury management practices.
With a calling to help make New Zealand workplaces safer, Jo brings both strategic leadership and in-the-field experience, and has a passion to support professionals do their best work and make a real impact. Also a Steering Group Member of GM Safety Forum, Jo leads a workstream on building health and safety capability for Executive leaders.
